The UCS secondary programs include the Gene
L. Klida Utica Academy for International Studies (GLK-UAIS), the Utica Center
for Mathematics, Science and Technology (UCMST), the Utica Center for Science
and Industry (UCSI), and the Stevenson Center for Manufacturing, Automation,
and Design Engineering (MADE).
The UCS Secondary Specialty Programs are
part of our district’s “Portfolio of Choices” that support the unique needs,
talents, and interests of our students. The specialty programs are offered hand
in hand with the nationally recognized program and services available through
our district’s four comprehensive high schools. Regardless of what choice a
student makes, they will be working with students from diverse backgrounds and
experiences.
While the specialty programs are open for
consideration by all eighth-grade families, Stevenson MADE is
primarily open to Heritage, Jeannette, and Davis Junior High School students
scheduled to attend Stevenson High School. If additional seats are available,
applications from other schools will be considered (internal transfer approval
will be required for non-Stevenson feeder school students).
